Synecco partnered with Irish company Latch Medical, a developer of vaccine and biologics delivery platforms, to develop their next generation drug delivery devices featuring an innovative “click on, click off” mechanism.
Over the years, coated microneedles have struggled in a number of key areas including; poor needle penetration through the stratum corneum (outermost layer of the epidermis), low payload capabilities, an inability to self-retain in the skin and overall, expensive and difficult to use.
Synecco designers and usability engineers addressed the key issues and delivered an intuitive and easy-to-use delivery and removal system that enabled optimal penetration of Latch Medical’s unique needle array.
Pharma Latch Coated (microneedles) now deliver consistent dosing from near full-length needle penetration and exposure. The interlocking needles facilitate selfretention in the skin, allowing sustained release. And the simple “click on, click off” mechanism enables easy penetration of the stratum corneum.
