Development of manufacturing processes and understanding processes capabilities runs parallel with product development at Synecco. In many cases products designed at Synecco are manufactured by Synecco at our site in Whitegate, Co. Clare, so in the words of one of our clients we usually have to “eat our own cooking “.
Designing components without due consideration for manufacturing processes (such as injection moulding) can result in unforeseen, and generally expensive, manufacturing issues. We use Moulding simulations incorporating different part geometries, materials, gate locations and configurations, cooling channel locations and processing parameters can quickly highlight any potential issues further down the line.
Beyond the component, we also simulate and build iterations of assembly jigs and fixtures to better understand and optimize assembly processes, which in turn reflects back to product design features. Inherent in this, of course, is developing a deep understanding of manufacturing process variation and tolerances, ensuring the solution is fit for purpose with these constraints.
