The Avance Heart Valve Delivery System incorporates an innovative handle design, optimising user inputs with a dual-speed actuation mechanism which allows the clinician to deploy the device with precision and efficiency.
A changing patient demographic, driven by lower-risk cohorts, has created the need for innovation in the structural heart space. The implantation of structural heart devices using a delivery system requires precise and controlled placement in a highly dynamic environment. The Avance system is designed to optimise the user interface, reduce the input force required from the clinician, and increase deployment accuracy for improved patient outcomes.
The initial phase of deployment provides a 1:1 response, allowing the user to position and partially deploy the device with precision at the intended anatomical target. The second phase of deployment incorporates a faster travel, enabling efficient full deployment with minimal impact on patient haemodynamics. In addition, the internal drive mechanism has been engineered to reduce delivery system length—opening the potential for streamlined workflows and single-user procedures in structural heart interventions.
Synecco’s development process brings together multidisciplinary teams of clinical experts, industrial designers, usability engineers, mechanical engineers and process engineers to deliver fully rounded solutions to complex problems.
